Title: Deciding for the living God

Text verse: Joshua 24: 15

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Bible Reading: Joshua 24: 1–2, 14–18

Message: Only the Lord is the living God, and it is for Him that we are to decide.

Summary:

  • Joshua and his house had decided to serve the Lord, and Joshua called upon the people to do the same.
  • There is no alternative to the living God. The only choice we have is to decide for or against Him.
  • God chose the people of Israel, however, the people remained susceptible to idol worship for a long time.
  • Today the important thing is to decide for Jesus Christ, who is assembling His people of the new covenant.
