Title: The message of the cross
Text verse: 1 Corinthians 1: 22–24
For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
We proclaim the crucified Lord as the power and wisdom of God.
- Essential signs of the truth of the gospel are love for God and love for others.
- The cross is an inexplicable mystery that can only be accepted in faith and can only be understood to a certain degree.
- When we proclaim the crucified Lord, we profess Him as the power and wisdom of God.
