Title: The death of Jesus
Text verse: Hebrews 13: 12–13
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
Bible reading: Isaiah 53: 3–12
Message:
Let us go to Golgotha with Jesus.
Summary:
- Jesus had to leave Jerusalem in order to bring His sacrifice.
- His execution outside of Jerusalem also has symbolic meaning: it is not the sacrificial service, but the death of Jesus, that brings salvation.
- We must come to Jesus, leave the “old city” or camp behind, and bear our cross.
