Title: The Servant of God

Text verse: Philippians 2: 6–8

[Christ Jesus] who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Bible Reading: Philippians 2: 5–11

God the Son became man in order to redeem us.

  • Christ took on the form of a bondservant.
  • By His own free will, the Son of God decided to leave the glory of God and become human.
  • Jesus is the perfect man, and remains our example in word and deed.
  • His death on the cross is an expression of God’s solidarity with mankind.
