The imminent return of Jesus as well as of His present nearness in the congregations and in our lives fill us with joy.
Summary:
The joy of the Christian is not dependent on any specific mood or conditions of life.
It has its source in the nearness of the Lord, which is manifest in both temporal and spatial aspects:
- in the hope and firm certainty of the imminent return of Christ and of eternal life in the new creation.
- in the experience of Christ’s activity in His church and in our lives.
