Title: Being holy
Text verse: 1 Peter 1: 15–16
… but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
Message: Holiness should characterize the church of Christ and its members.
Summary:
- Holiness is part of the nature of God and is evident in His inviolability.
- Holiness is a fundamental characteristic of the church of Christ. The sacraments are one sign of this holiness.
- The sacrifice of Jesus is the only way to attain holiness. Jesus includes both the apostolate and His church in this sanctification.
- The divine service plays an important role in our sanctification.
