Title: The Suffering Servant of God

Text verse: Isaiah 53: 4–5

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Message:

Jesus Christ in the form of a bondservant is an example to His church in suffering.

Summary:

  • The Suffering Servant is a reference to Christ, who suffered for fallen mankind.
  • The church of Christ demonstrates its gratitude for this and follows its Lord. The church will prove itself in times of affliction.
  • When the kingdom of peace is established, the royal priesthood of Christ will proclaim the gospel to all. Many will heed their call.
